The Charge of the Light Bridge

The themes of the poem are war activities, courage(সাহস) of soldiers in the battle and their sense(ইন্দ্রিয়, অনুভতি, বোধ বা বিচারশক্তি, মতে) of duty. The poem is about a troop(সেনা) of soldiers in the battle who charges forward to the enemy line and do their job. The poem tells the story of a bridge consisting(গঠিত) of 600 soldiers who rode(চড়ে) on horseback(অশ্বপৃষ্ঠ) into the “valley of death” for half a league(সংঘবদ্ধ) The soldiers were very courageous. They knew  that they might all die while fighting. They were not at all distressed(দুর্দশাগ্রস্ত) at the command(আদেশ করা) of their leader even though the soldiers realized that their commander had made a terrible(ভয়ঙ্কর) mistakes
